Jeanette Shearer

Jeanette's involvement with clay began 25 years ago, working in her husband’s pottery studio, glazing and decorating. Her skills were further extended by teaching pottery from their Birkenhead studio and it was these classes and the need to be continuously searching for new ideas that led to the development of the framed clay baskets for which she is well known.

The crackled ceramic feathers can be wall mounted or just sit on the coffee table.  Her brooch series include pohutukawa leaves, koru hearts, feathers, kete baskets, tikis and korus. Look out for new works.

Jeanette uses both white stoneware clay and porcelain.   All of her work is fired in a gas kiln to 1300c.
